Writing great content is hard enough. Writing SEO-friendly content? That can feel like juggling flaming swords while riding a unicycle.
That's why we built Writing Assistant - your new content buddy inside Slim SEO Pro that gives you real-time feedback while you're writing, so your posts and pages are ready to impress both your readers and search engines.

Why We Made Writing Assistant
We've all been there:
- You write an awesome post... but forget to add a featured image.
- Or your keywords are all over the place (or nowhere at all).
- Or your paragraphs read like a wall of text that even you don't want to scroll through.
Writing Assistant helps you spot these issues before you hit publish, so you can confidently share content that looks good, reads well, and performs better in search.
How It Works
When you edit a post or page, you'll see a shiny new Writing Assistant tab (or meta box). From there, it checks things like:
- Keywords: Are you using your target keywords in all the right places?
- Media: Do your images have alt text? Are they too big?
- Word count: Is your post beefy enough for search engines to take it seriously?
- Internal links: Are you pointing readers (and Google) to your other great content?
- Slug length: Short and sweet wins.
- Readability: Is your writing easy to read, or are you accidentally writing like a legal contract?
- Paragraph length: Too short, too long, or just right?

Each check comes with an easy-to-read indicator - green if all is well, orange if there's room for improvement.

What Makes It Special
Unlike some tools that bark SEO "rules" at you, Writing Assistant gives recommendations. You decide whether to follow them.
Think of it as having a friendly editor looking over your shoulder, saying:
“Hey, maybe shorten that slug a bit?”
“This paragraph could use a breather.”
“Psst… forgot your featured image.”
No pressure, no stress - just helpful nudges to make your content stronger.
Ready to Write Smarter?
Whether you're crafting a blog post, a landing page, or a product description, Writing Assistant is here to help you:
✅ Stay focused on your main keywords
✅ Keep your content reader-friendly
✅ Avoid common SEO slip-ups
Update to the latest version of Slim SEO Pro and meet your new favorite writing companion today. 🚀
This is a feature which seals the deal for me, and will likely make me drop RankMath to go all in with Slim SEO Pro.
However, I'm colorblind and the green and the orange look identical to me (sorry to be awkward 🥹).
Is there any way you can make the colors more different? Or a colorblind friendly toggle in settings?
Would make this feature usable for me.
Thanks! 🙏
Hi Liam, thanks for your message. Do you have any suggestion about the colors? We can change it to make it more accessible.
Hi Anh,
Thanks for being so open to feedback 🙏
For me, a clear green for ‘correct’ and a bright yellow or red for ‘needs attention’ would be easiest to understand, similar to a traffic light. But since different types of colorblindness exist, it may be safest to either:
• Use a pair that’s known to work for all users (like green + blue, or green + orange with high contrast), or;
• Keep the traffic light colors but add icons or labels so the meaning isn’t color-only. Like maybe you could keep the existing colors, but just overlay a check or cross (I’m not sure if that’s possible or not).
Or even just replacing the “needs attention” color with a texture instead of a color would be enough for most colorblind users to differentiate between the two.
Thanks.
Hi Liam,
Thanks for your suggestion. We mimic the traffic lights with green + orange (which also easy to understand). Perhaps icons and/or texts would be helpful. We'll think more about this and will improve it.
Thanks a lot Anh.

I would suggest to use icons like a red "x" for error, an orange"-" for warning, and a green checkmark "success".
I've just seen the update, Anh - thanks so much. It makes a huge difference for me. I'm glad I updated to Pro yesterday.
You're welcome!
